George Gogua is a seasoned multimedia journalist and editor from Georgia, with over a decade of experience in both print and digital media. He is the co-founder and director of Project 64, a pioneering media organization dedicated to advancing explanatory journalism and fostering multimedia collaboration across the South Caucasus region.

At Project 64, George leads a diverse team of journalists, editors, and designers. Together, they produce high-quality content on critical topics such as social justice, human rights, environmental issues, and culture. Utilizing data visualization, interactive storytelling, and various multimedia formats, the team aims to make journalism more accessible and impactful.

In 2024, George was selected as a Democracy Tech Entrepreneur Fellow by the Alliance of Democracies Foundation. This fellowship recognized his work on "Gzavnili," a platform developed to analyze and visualize political propaganda in Georgia. The tool was instrumental in exposing coordinated disinformation campaigns during debates over the controversial "foreign agents" law, which sought to label independent media and NGOs as foreign operatives. George's commitment to independent journalism and democratic values has made him a prominent voice in Georgia's media landscape. His efforts continue to inspire and inform audiences both within the region and internationally. .
