Beth Goldberg

Beth is the Head of Research & Development at Jigsaw, a Google unit that builds technology for more free societies and inspires scalable solutions. Beth is also a Senior Fellow and Lecturer at Yale’s Jackson School of Global Affairs where she teaches graduate courses on AI and information systems. At Jigsaw, she leads an interdisciplinary team of researchers and designers who apply AI to improve democratic discourse in concert with partners across the US and EU. Her work has been published in top academic journals and covered by media including The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Washington Post, Der Spiegel, Suddeutsche Zeitung and TIME.
Beth previously managed programs for the US Department of State with Freedom House focusing on digital security. She worked with Amnesty International and Namati to document human rights abuses and provide legal aid. She is a Fellow of the Zeit-Stiftung Program on Global Governance and a Senior Fellow with Humanity in Action. She served under the auspices of the Committee on Science, Technology, and Law for evolving technological, legal, and social solutions to counter disinformation at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
Beth graduated from Yale University with an MA in Global Affairs and an MBA, and she holds a BS in International Politics and Arabic from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
