Kay Benesh is a peacebuilding, social justice, and gender equality programme advisor and specialist in the Women, Peace and Security policymaking. Kay is currently the national advisor to the Alliance for Gender Inclusion in Peace Process and an advisor to Women Advocacy Coalition Myanmar (WAC-M). Kay is a certified Program Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) professional from the University of Peace. She has also facilitated various high-level policy dialogues on democratic institution strengthening for gender equality, human development, and labour migration among governments in the ASEAN region.
Kay worked for the ASEAN Secretariat’s Human Development Division, ASEAN Socio-cultural Department. Her fields of research interest include women’s participation in peace and political processes, labour migration, and political economy of armed conflict, as well as the utilization focused and empowerment evaluation in fragile and conflict affected contexts. She holds an MPA from Sciences Po, Paris, and an MA from Webster University, St. Louis, USA.
