Leonid Volkov was Alexeyi Navalny’s chief of staff between 2013 and 2024. He served as campaign manager for Navalny’s campaign for mayor of Moscow in 2013 and for his attempt to register as presidential candidate in 2017-18.

Volkov oversees political projects of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, founded by Alexei Navalny, as well as runs the Internet Protection Society, one of the leading Russian digital rights NGOs. Volkov holds PhdD in Theoretical Computer Science, and was selected as the Yale World Fellow in 2018. Since 2019 he lives with his family in Vilnius, Lithuania. Russian government officially designates him as terrorist; there are 11 politically motivated criminal cases against him in Russia. In March 2024, one month after Navalny was killed in Putin’s prison, Volkov was attacked with a hammer in front of his house in Vilnius.
