Marie Bjerre

Marie Bjerre has been a Member of the Danish Parliament (Folketing) since June 2019, after being elected in the North Jutland greater constituency, and has been serving as Minister for European Affairs since August 2024. Previously, she served as Minister for Digitalisation and Minister for Gender Equality from December 2023 to August 2024. Her parliamentary work builds on a strong background in law and European affairs, as well as early engagement in political organizations and youth leadership. She holds a Master of Laws from the University of Copenhagen (2005–2011) and an LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (2015–2016). Prior to her political career, she worked as an attorney at Storm Advokatfirma (2016–2019) and at Gorrissen Federspiel in Aarhus (2012–2016). Earlier, she served as Political Assistant to Member of the European Parliament Jens Rohde (2010–2012). Bjerre has been actively involved in political and student organizations from a young age, including leadership roles in Venstres Ungdom, where she served on the national executive and board and chaired the training committee (2007–2009), as well as chairman of the Viborg branch (2004–2005). She also held positions in national student organizations, including Educational Policy Secretary of GLO and National Secretary of FLO.
