Uffe Elbæk

Uffe Elbæk, former Minister for Culture and former party leader and founder of the green party The Alternative. Before entering national politics and becoming member of the Danish Parliament, Uffe Elbæk was founder and leader of the youth cultural organization The Frontrunners (1982 - 1991). After the Frontrunners Uffe Elbæk founded and was principal for the entrepreneurial leadership program The KaosPilots (1991 - 2006) and later CEO of the international LGBT event World Outgames in Copenhagen (2007 - 2009).

During his professional career Uffe Elbæk has been an outspoken progressive voice in the Danish society. Both as an educator, cultural opinion maker, author and columnist. In November 2022 Uffe Elbæk stepped down from his seat in the Danish Parliament, and for the first time in more than 40 years he is no longer responsible for anything or anybody - except himself.

Uffe Elbæk has written several books, among them Leadership on the Edge (2010), his memoirs Et liv (A Life) (2022) and his latest book: Tvivl, håb & handling (Doubt, Hope & Action) (2023). He has received several awards and recognitions for his work.
