Michael Chertoff was the second U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security (2005- 2009), serving under President George W. Bush. He was the co-author of the USA PATRIOT Act. Since leaving government service, Mr. Chertoff has worked as senior of counsel at the Washington, D.C. law firm Covington & Burling, where he concentrates in the area of White Collar Defense and Investigations. He also co-founded the Chertoff Group, a risk-management and security consulting company, which employs several former senior political appointees. Mr. Chertoff served as Chairman of BAE Systems, and he currently co-chairs the Bipartisan Policy Center's Immigration Task Force as well as the Alliance of Democracies' Transatlantic Commision on Election Interference.
