Jens-Frederik Nielsen, born on June 22, 1991, in Nuuk, is the Premier of Greenland and the party leader of Demokraatit. He studied social sciences at Ilisimatusarfik and has previously worked as a ministerial secretary and held several organizational roles within the party. In 2020, he was appointed Naalakkersuisoq for Industry and Mineral Resources and, that same year, elected chairman of the Democrats.
In the 2025 election, the Democrats became the country’s largest party, and Jens-Frederik Nielsen was appointed chairman of Naalakkersuisut. His political work has included a focus on business development, the natural resources sector, and the modernization of the public sector. In addition to his political career, he has distinguished himself as an elite badminton player, winning several Greenlandic championships and achieving international success. He also has a deep passion for hunting, fishing, and nature. He lives in Nuuk and has three children.
